As the Russia-Ukraine war continues and Russia changes its nuclear doctrine, Europe faces its NATO allies to counter the Russian threat.

Analysts say that apart from the Russian threat, the recent revelation that China intends to build more than 1,000 nuclear bombs could be another factor in the US decision to deploy nuclear weapons in Europe. China is said to be one major reason. In response to the immediate threats from Russia and China, the United States has restarted its domestic uranium enrichment program, presumably to develop more nuclear weapons and expand its nuclear arsenal.

Did the US deploy B61-12 nuclear bombs in Europe?

In a recent statement, Jill Hroeby, director of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the U.S. federal agency tasked with protecting the nation’s nuclear arsenal, said that NATO remains a strong military alliance and that the United States has He said he has deployed 12. Although Hruby did not say exactly where the bomb was deployed, experts say her statement makes it clear that the United States has officially begun deploying B61-12 nuclear bombs in Europe. .

However, it is still unclear whether the US has deployed B61-12 nuclear bombs at NATO bases in Europe or whether deployment is still in progress, according to reports.

How powerful is the US B61-12 nuclear bomb?

This B61-12 nuclear bomb is an improved version of the earlier B61 thermonuclear gravity bomb, one of America’s oldest and most important nuclear weapons, having been in use in America’s nuclear arsenal since 1968.

The 12-foot-long B61-12 carries a 50-kiloton nuclear warhead, capable of destroying large areas equivalent to 50,000 tons of TNT. This bomb is a strategic nuclear weapon and is designed for precise nuclear attacks. The B61-12 can be dropped using bombers or fighter aircraft and can be deployed to targets from miles away.

Panic among NATO allies

As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, the imminent threat of a Russian nuclear attack has sent America’s NATO allies in Europe into a state of panic, and Russian President Vladimir Putin has publicly threatened NATO countries that border Russia. is making threats.

Late last year, as the Russia-Ukraine war escalated, the Russian government revised its nuclear doctrine to provide itself with more “flexible” options for deploying nuclear weapons against adversaries.
