For many years, we have heard how Apple wants to reduce its dependence on China for the production of iPhone, and how India is the next China. And the company has steadily increased the number of iPhones produced in India, but there is still no iPhone in China. But the race can approach.

This is because India has deleted importing operations with some components, such as some components, such as the key to mobile phone production (PCB, part of the camera module, USB cable). Obviously, it aims to enhance local production of smartphones, which should benefit Apple and Xiaomi.

Indian iPhone assembly is boosted from the deleted import fee of parts.

India is already the second largest telephone manufacturer in the world, but of course China is still far away. Nevertheless, India’s electronic production has doubled in the past six years, reaching $ 115 billion in 2024.

And now, India has increased its own share and stands in global supply chains, using the trade tensions between the United States and China. According to Reuters, the complex tariff structure of India is “often quoted as a deterrent of efficient local production and dispute.” This may be a step to prevent things that are not so complicated. Therefore, open the way for Apple or Xiaomi to transfer their Chinese production to more India.
